Create a custom AI assistant

TL;DR Voilà allows you to create personas with specific skills and knowledge, and use them whenever you need help with a specific task or topic.

In this article, we will learn how to create a custom AI assistant with Voilà. But first, let's understand what a custom AI assistant is and how it can be helpful.

You can think of AI assistants as virtual personas with specific skills and knowledge – for example, a math teacher, business advisor, coding assistant, or a life coach.

Our recent addition of "Custom instructions" allows you to create these personas and use them whenever you need help with a specific task or topic.

How to create a Custom AI assistant

1. Open Custom Actions section: Start by opening Voilà, navigating to the "My Actions" folder and selecting "Create New Action".
2. Click the "Create new Action" button.

3. Create your assistant:

   • Title: Give your assistant a name, for example, "Marketing expert", "Math Teacher" or "Business Advisor".
   • Prompt: Use a prompt that is just a conversation starter, for example:
     "I'd like to chat about: "
   • Custom instructions: Click the "Custom instructions" button and provide detailed instructions for your assistant.

     Be as specific as you can, and provide examples of the type of help you need, the type of response you expect and or additional details and knowledge that will help the assistant understand your needs.

     Here's an example:

     Marketing expert assistant

     You are an experienced marketing professional.

     Your task is to be my brainstorming partner and to answer all my questions. Feel free to ask me any questions and engage in a conversation. If not sure how to solve a problem or a task, give it your best effort. Show your work step-by-step.

     Most of the time, your job will be to create marketing strategies that effectively promote and communicate the value of my business to my target audience. You will need to explain your reasoning behind each strategy and provide examples of how it could be implemented in real life.

     Start the conversation by asking additional questions, one at the time, to gather more information.

     Tone: conversational

     My business: Sustainable kid's fashion brand called "Tiny Planet".

     My target audience: 25-40 yrs old, living in and around New York City. Interests: Fashion, Sustainability

4. Use the AI Assistant: Once you've created your AI assistant, it will be available in Voilà's library of prompts. Select the assistant and chat about any topic or ask for help with a specific task.
